Solved [REQUEST]Find channel in channel tree after connecting to Default Channel

We have many channels. If I enter Default Channel to join to, I connected to that channel correctly but the channel list doesn't jump to this position. It would be nice to implement a "Find Channel in channel tree" function and / or scroll down instantly to the Default channel after connecting. Thank you.

There is a sort of 'find x channel' already. If you click in the channel tree and hit the first letter of the channel name, it will go to every channel or person that begins with that character.

Yes, i know this isn't exactly what you want and i also know you may know this trick already but maybe you don't. Anyway, if you don't then maybe this will help you out until the devs respond or implement a similar feature. Until then that is all i can think of.

    Hi,

Thank you but pressing "XY" letter is useless. We have 1000+ channels. It's nearly impossible to find my "Default Channel" after connecting to the server.

I heared from a search field for the server tree. But this won't be included for 3.0.

This is interesting too. But I'm talking about jumping to the channel's position after connecting to the server.

    Hi,

Do you have any news about jumping to the channel's position on the list after connecting to custom default channel after joining to a server?

Jumping to it after connect? This won't be changed. The server stays the object, that is selected on connect.

I'm not saying that the channel needs to be selected just scrolling to its position in the channel list. Is this possible?

The scrollbar always jumps to the selected item in tree.
You can easily test it. Select your server on the top of all channels.
Now use the "key down" on your keyboard and you will see, that the scrollbar scrolls with it, when the bottom of your tree windows has been reached.

The server stays selected, as said above. Can we stop to discuss it please?

"The scrollbar always jumps to the selected item in tree." -> now I understand, I didn't know this. Besides please press a REJECTED & close. I think until something is not rejected it's open for discussion. (this thread is 7 months old anyway, I was just looking through my requests in the past

Update We think, that you are right with that suggestion.

Your channel should be selected when...
    - You join the server
    - When you create a new one

This will be changed in our Rc2-pre1 client

This function needs to get imporved. It does not work correctly on big servers.

Yes, I noticed that too. It tries to scroll down where I am after connecting but it's not accurate since auto-scrolling down happens before every channel gets expanded.
