Hiya all, setting up ts3 for the first time.

I am installing this on a windows server 2008 R2, athlon 2, 64 bit OS
At first, I tried installing on a windows 7 64 bit pc, worked just wonderfully. Decided it would be better on a server that would be on all the time, hence the computer shift. Now, strangely I cannot get it to work.
I grant you this is on a different network, however I am 99% sure my port forwarding, firewall, etc are correct.
My problem: normally, if you right click on the server icon on the bottom right, click wan ip, it gives you the ip, and a request button. On mine, it gives Needs to be requested, and request.
Neither do anything when clicked. Strangely, my machine clearly has an IP, and when you go to server connection info, it specifically lists the correct IP there.
I was wondering if this was indicative of any particular error going on here since no one except the server can connect to the ts3 server.

Thanks for any light that can be shed on this.

    Hello

Basicaly, the server send an UDP request to the accounting server to get the good external IP.
This request use the port 2008.

Try to allow this output communication on your firewall.

Your Windows server is a dedicated server or a VPS hosted by another system ?
Do you receive an answer if you send a ping request to the accounting server (ping accounting.teamspeak.com) ?
    Also, try "tracert".

Server failed to retrieve WAN ip

    Hey guys,
I have recently hosted my own TS server for a week now. So far, I haven't had any problems until now.
The problem is the fact that my server cannot retrieve the WAN ip. Usually when you right-click the TS3 server icon, it shows 3 things: "About; Wan IP; Exit". Then if you click on Wan IP, usually it shows: "Request; (your Wan IP)". In my case, when I click on Wan IP it shows: "Request; Needs to be requested".

I have portforwarded the ports: 9987, 10011, 30033. I have checked them and they're OPEN.
I have a DYNAMIC IP (yes, I know that I should use a STATIC IP...), but the thing is I can't figure out how to setup a static IP. I have tried using "Portforward Setup Static IP Address", but no results. Also, my ISP has stopped giving out static IP to regular customers.
Also, I'm hosting the server on my own computer so no VPS.
My firewall allows "ts3server_win64.exe" to communicate through Windows Firewall.
I have tried to set up a new server from scratch, I still have the same problem.

    Here's the last log:
    2014-06-12 19:37:21.149278|INFO |ServerLibPriv | | TeamSpeak 3 Server 3.0.10.3 (2014-01-01 16:28:39)

If anyone can help me please, it will be really appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi joshua2504,
I have also portforwarded the port 2008, but it didn't solve the problem

Also, I have looked at that post already and tried "tracert". I got a ping back.

Can't retrieve my WAN IP for my TS server

I am using Windows 8.1 64-bit and I can't retrieve my WAN IP. All of the ports (9987, 10011, 30033) are open and the firewall rules are set but when I open up the server and right click on the icon, the WAN IP says REQUEST and NEEDS TO BE REQUESTED. I've clicked both numerous times but it still won't provide me with the WAN IP. I know my IP address but when I type it in, I can't connect.

Any suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This happened to me to, go on the server list and search after your server name, it should be there, then connect and then you can see your IP.

That's not his issue. His server isn't working. It's the same problem I started having with mine today. It has to be a TeamSpeak thing. Nothing has changed on my server, there are no ports being blocked, no firewall.

Well, I had created my own post but I guess they thought it'd be better to hijack someone else's and moved it here, but anyway, just wanted to follow up and report my server mysteriously began working again without intervention from me. I guess it was what the tech support for the VPS said: The TeamSpeak back-end servers were down.
