Ts3 Server newbie, what am I doing wrong?

    Hello!

    Im new to setting up a server in Ts3 (have been using voice.teamspeak.com for a while but now I want my own server) and I just can't get it working. Guides online wont help me much so Im posting this here in hope for someone to be able to guide me through everything with setting up a server. My native language isnt Enligsh so excuse me if I express or explain myself wrong sometimes;

I already have a fine working Ts Client.
Im in win 7, 64 bit, so I download the 64 bit server 3.0.10.3
After installation is complete, it pops up as an icon in the bottom right corner.
Here is where I understand that I should get my WAN-IP from, but all it says when i mark WAN Ip is "request" and underneath that, it says "needs to be requested". Nothing seems to happen when i click on any of those.
That above would be problem nr 1.

Problem nr 2 is, okay, moving on with the server anyway since a WAN Ip is basically information that can be obtained everywhere. So I'm opening ports, all three of them, counter-check so that my ports are firmly open which they are, and I connect to my Ts3 server as "localhost". I am also able to connect with my router Ip, 192.xxx.x.xxx. I am however not able to connect to my server with my Internet Ip, 213.185.244.42

<14:05:33> Trying to connect to server on 213.185.244.42
<14:05:38> Failed to connect to server

None of my friends are able to connect to my server, but we can all see my server in the "server list" in teamspeak connections. What have I done wrong? What more information do you need to be able to understand my problem better?

Thanks for all the help and support I can get!

Question1: Don't worry. Lately the servers don't retrieve the WAN IP

Question2: I've connected to your server.
    Code:
27/06/2014 16:09:39	ClientUI	Info	Connect to server: 213.185.244.42
27/06/2014 16:09:39	ClientUI	Info	Blacklist check ok
    27/06/2014 16:09:39	ClientUI	Info	Initiating connection: 213.185.244.42:9987 213.185.244.42
27/06/2014 16:09:39	ClientUI	Info	Connect status: Connecting
27/06/2014 16:09:39	PktHandler	Devel	Puzzle solve time: 21
27/06/2014 16:09:40	ClientUI	Info	Connect status: Connected
27/06/2014 16:09:40	ClientUI	Info	Connect status: Establishing connection
27/06/2014 16:09:40	ClientUI	Info	Connect status: Connection established
27/06/2014 16:09:40	PermManager	Info	Requesting permissions from server
Don't worry if you can't connect indicating the wan-ip to your server from your own LAN, this happens with some routers and maybe yours is one of that kind. Your friends should connect indicating the WAN-IP you have indicated --> 213.185.244.42
As you can see in my client log, I've connected.

I know that this has been asked a ton before, but does anyone know the solution to finding the wan IP when it needs to be requested...?

Really? The answer was already given.

It doesn't impact anything, your server will still work just fine, you only need to know your WAN IP or find it out yourself.

Because there is none! The resolving WAN-IP routine in Teamspeak 3 is broken. Also it is an irrelevant "error" perhaps the devs should changed it to WARNING... You can just ignore it.

P.S.: Also what I wanted to point out for a long time... This silly "request WAN-IP" function is only part of the Windows Teamspeak3-Server. I think it tells you a great deal about what the devs think about the knowlegde or skill of the common user running Teamspeak3-Server on Windows plattform.

    "Needs to be Requested"

I have a server set up for personal use on my computer. Every time I try to find the WAN IP on the taskbar it says "needs to be requested" where it's supposed to be. I have a static IP setup, and I had the server working before, but one day it just stops working. This has been going on for the past month and I can't find any solution. I know for sure that the server used to work; I had all my ports forwarded and all of my friends could join. I can only join the server by typing in "localhost." No point since no one can join but me http://puu.sh/a2lmd/e751d3c053.jpg

    (I'm running windows 8.1 on i5 4670k)

That's an error in message categorization. "ERROR |GetWanIP" should be "INFO", means, it's a mere inconvenience.

Never mind, the server just couldn't find my WAN IP. I just used PFPORTCHECKER to find it!
