    Question [Bug?] Default-CA-Group

    Evening Folks,

like (probably) other hosters we changed the default-channel-admin-group to be another one (in this case the operators group), since CA is on our servers for existing channels.
Ok, it works so far, anyone who creates a channel is set to Operator.
But, if someone (SA or Support) edits the server, the default-channel-admin-group reverts back to "Channel-Admin", even this option is not edited itself.
When setting back to "Operator", the database shows also this group as default-channel-admin.
So, why does the server reverts this group back when editing?

    Thanks.

We don't understand the editing part, please give us an how to for this.

    How to?:
    1. Set Operator as default group
    2. Create a Channel and make it permanent (so user has Op)
    3. Edit the default group again

Now the user still has operator in this channel, even after he was offline or reconencts. This works as it should.

    I think he is saying:

    1. open edit virtual server
    2. change default channel admin group to operator
    3. save settings
    4. when new channels are created users are given operator as desired
    5. open edit virtual server again
    6. change some setting other than default channel admin group
    7. save settings
    8. now when new channel is made people are getting channel admin instead of operator

I could not reproduce this with my setup (client beta38-pre[build 13232]/server beta31-pre[build 13154]) though.

My question would be are they editing the server from a 3rd party web admin page? Maybe that page was not coded to retrieve the current default channel admin group so it always loads with the default of channel admin and saves that setting back to the server. Could maybe be a problem with other versions of client/server or a permissions problem preventing the client from retrieving the currently set default.

We also tryed that, but it never changed the default group, when someone changed the spam settings as an example.

@Screech: No, we dont use an external interface, only the client.
It also appeared to change back without editing anything in server settings.
Say, set the default CA-Group to be i. e. Operators and when looking into settings later, its back to CA.
However, we solved it by letting CA be the default CA group, as intended by Teamspeak
