Serveradmin via Query - not full rights?

    Hello everyone,

I found out that my Server Admin group has i_client_modify_power not set.

So I went to the Query using the serveradmin login.

When I try to add this permission to the group I get the following error:
    Code:
    servergroupaddperm sgid=79 permsid=i_client_modify_power permvalue=100 permskip=0 permnegated=0
    error id=2569 msg=insufficient\sgroup\smodify\spower
Why does the Query serveradmin not have enough power to do this?

If you are AdminServerQuery, you can set value = 100
If you are ServerAdmin, you can set value = 75

    Hello

If you used only this query line, you are in the Quest Query group, and of course, you have not enough power.
Yuo must be use the login (login serveradmin <password>) and select server before change the permissions.

With which version did you created your TS3 server database (and the serveradmin password was displayed)?

hmm, I don't remember which one it was, but it was quite a while ago.

Can I look it up somewhere when the database was created?

No, but there was important changes between beta 1 and 20 of the server. Some of them needed manual changes at the database. If you forgot some of the manual changes, it may cause your current problems.

I just saw that TS is displaying the date of the first connection to the server.

So I assume the server was created at January or February of 2010, but I don't know which version was it back then

Just click on the servers name on the top and you should see the version in the right window.

I am sure that he updated the server some times in the last year .

@ rindorbrot: Did you all needed changes in your TS3 SQL database tables?
This was needed until server beta 21, which was released end of march 2010.
Of course you had to set the auto update types correctly, or you missed much more permissions.

I did no manual additions to the database and I'm pretty sure my colleagues haven't either...

So you would probably suggest to simply create a new database?
As much as I like this idea the downside of this would be that all of our customisations and Virtual Servers will be gone...

I think it should be possible to add all the new permissions to the database, but which do I need to insert? all of them or only until beta21, because after this they should've been added automaticaly, right?

Your Query Admin needs this permission b_permission_modify_power_ignore with that permission you will be able add all these missing permissions and their Grant Value.

The Query Admin has this right, but it is still not working.

Could you post here the permission of your Query Admin group and the server group sgid 79 (so that we can find where exactly the problem is)
