    SILK Code

Hi, any chances that you will add SILK as a new codec? I think it's a good lowband codec used mainly by Skype with a very good voice quality.

Steam now makes use of it, too.

    Sorry for my poor english

Edit: Okay, its a wideband codec

SILK is proprietary, and doesn't seem to work as well as the codecs we haven now. Of course, I may be wrong but that's my experience with Skype: it may have high quality, but we also have codec that has higher quality than that if all you need is quality. If you need low bandwidth, TS3 already have 400Bytes/second alternative. And it already have a variety of choices that compromises both of them.

The SILK SDK contains the complete source, nothing precompiled. http://developer.skype.com/silk
The Wikipedia Page isn't the best source anymore, sorry. It uses a variable bitrate, witch can help to save bandwidth with high quality (based on the complexity of the audo signal).
I don't know if this codec is free of charge. If not, is there any chance to get an other codec with variable bitrate? Adjustable values would be nice (for example 5 - 30 kbit/sec)

Additional codecs will be tested and maybe added to TeamSpeak 3's feature set after the stable/final release.

SILK is proprietary, not to mention it doesn't add anything relatively new to the table. Closed-source != Proprietary
