How do you send a pm to somebody who is not currently in you channel?

How do you send a pm to somebody who is not currently in you channel?

Right click on the user, and you have 2 possibilities:
-Open Text Chat
-Poke client
You can also click onto the nickname in the server or channel log.
To send a normal pm you, you have to see the user (in a channel or log).
When sending me private messages: Please make sure to include reference link to your forum thread or post.

I can't right click on them if they are not online though. What about that? Is it possible?
