Solved [BUG] Invalid parameter size upon auto-reconnecting to a server

    Hi,

After "connection lost", on auto-reconnecting to the server (server RC1, client RC1) the client showed the following error message: (this time we fought with the server RC1 release but we lose the battle for now)

    Code:
    <18:46:09> Connection to server lost
<18:46:10> Trying to resolve hostname klanok.hu
<18:46:11> Trying to connect to server on klanok.hu
    <18:46:13> invalid parameter size
<18:51:51> Trying to resolve hostname klanok.hu
<18:51:52> Trying to connect to server on klanok.hu
<18:51:57> Failed to connect to server
    Code:
    2011.05.16. 18:46:31InfoNo TSDNS found at "klanok.hu"
    2011.05.16. 18:52:12InfoNo TSDNS found at "klanok.hu"
We didn't change any TSDNS settings or files.

so why you reconnect ? server restart ? or the problem you described in the other thread ?
does every client on your server get that? just you ?

Its not easy to find out. I'll ask around who got that message. This was because the mass-disconnecting described in the other thread.

On my rented server that allows 12 connections, only 1 User as that problem.

We connect to the server directly to his IP adress xx.xx.xx.xx:10407

Cant understand why it happens only to ONE client. All the others users including me works fine. From Win or Mac.

We tried to restart the server, re-install TS3 Including removing the appdata TS3 folder form the user documents.

Thks for the quick Reply Dante696.

So you are saying this is a Server-Side problem? The people from the server have to upgrade something? didn't quite understand the solution!

We have no idea why "invalid" parameter" appears.

So it is with one user only?
Please give us more informations. Nickname, client version, operatiosn system, server version, and os.

Can you try these things please?

    1. Let the user connect to the IP:Port of the server < Maybe it's just an network problem.
Your informations showing us a conenction problem and no invalid parameter.

    2. Stop and start the server > now let him try to connect
    3. Make a backup of your server and update to the latest pre-version of our server

unfortunately I dont have access to "install" other version on server.. .But I was able to "re-install" in the re-install option. (clanserver.uk).

We are connecting trough the IP:PORT, now I created a DNS record to it, to try trough the name instead of IP:PORT.

Will give more feedback later, when the user arrived home from work!

Another funny thing.. the same client in connected to the "test teamspeak servers" works fine!

    Thks for all the help!

    Ok its working now....

At the time I got to the user he already formated the PC in last resort action.

Installed the RC2 version of TS3 and connected by DNSNAMEort instead of IP:PORT method.

Connection made without the "no TSDNS error" and didn't DC after some seconds as used to.

I am posting this just in case other users got the same problem... any Way I sugest to breakit down by the following steps:

1st - Intall de RC2 version frist and try it.
2nd - In case connecting with the IP:PORT method make a A record and try by NAMEort and try it.
3rd - The radical approach... format and re install SO.

    Thks
