    Unhappy Disconnecting frequently

    Hi guys

I'm having disconnecting issues - being dc'd every 30 seconds or so.
I've forwarded the ports on my router (not seperate to my modem), disabled firewalls on both router and in windows (Using Win7 64 Ult) and disabled antivirus (SEP, has inbuilt firewall too).

Have re-installed TS and also reformatted.

When I DC, sometimes it reconnects me straight away and gives a number at the end of my name (Eg. Kronic1, Kronic2 and so on, seen it at 11 last night) but sometimes it doesn't.

    Any ideas?
If you need logs of something let me know which ones and I'll post them.

    Thanks

1] nickX is normal cuz your nick haven't t/o at the moment your reconnected
2] does it happen with all sv or only with your default one?
3] ping continuous the ts sv while your connected, get disconnected n reconnect again n upload the ping stats

if ya usin win: hold the 'windows' key n press the 'r' key. a new window pops up called 'run', enter 'cmd' inside it n click 'ok'. if ya doin right a black window should pop, if not go back n try it again till it does. inside the black window type follow line:
    ping ts3 -t > c:\ts3.txt
replace ts3 with the sv ip or the server name w/o port! don't close the window, just open ts3, connect to the server n w8 till ya lost the connection n get reconnected. after that, go back to the black window n hold the 'ctrl' key n press 'c'. close the window n upload the c:\ts3.txt file

for linux it's almost the same but ya've to use this cmd inside your terminal:
    ping ts3 > ts3.txt

n just in case also upload your lastest log then

Thanks for that, I'll give it a shot when I get home (I know about pinging too btw nice instructions though haha)

I've only tried on 1 server so I'm not sure if it's just that server, but I am the only one who has the issue (out of about 25 users).

There was nothing wrong with the ping test, I was dropping in and out but nothing was reflected in the pings they stayed at a constant the whole time:

Pinging 173.199.80.222 with 32 bytes of data:

Oh and to correct what I meant about it adding numbers to my name, it puts a 1 every time it reconnects me, eg, Kronic1, Kronic11, Kronic111, Kronic1111 etc

This is still happening and I've seen posts around with people having the same issue yet no resolution.

Common factor I've seen is a few people are using Win7 64 bit, but countless others are using it with no issue.

Any others out there who may know a reason/fix to it?

Any solutions to this one? I have exactly the same problem running Win7 Pro 64 bit! I am running the latest client version.

I get the following when 5+ people in the channel.

"Connection Lost, Connected, User in your channel timed out". I then return immediately to the channel as (MY_USERNAME)1. This beings a pattern of the"Connection Lost, Connected, User in your channel timed out" and returning as (MY_USERNAME)11, "Connection Lost, Connected, User in your channel timed out" and returning as (MY_USERNAME)111, "Connection Lost, Connected, User in your channel timed out" and returning as (MY_USERNAME)1111 and so on.

If there are 5 (or under) people in the channel, TS3 will remain stable and this error will not occur.

I am looking for a setting in the TS3 software program that may resolve this issue?

I am happy to consider any other suggestions than the TS3 software, but before posting this I have undertaken the following:
    - Lengthy discussions and attempts at different modem settings with my ISP; &
    - I have also checked all my BIOS settings and reinstalled Windows 7 (Professional) with latest drivers (just did this clean install over the last few days).

Any suggestions, or what else I can post that would help provide a solution to this issue?? Thanks all!

    Exclamation

Okay, after a few months, I'm STILL having the issues. It's also not unique to the server as we have changed servers and the same issue occurs.

I have changed the network cable
I have purchased a PCI network card (thinking it may be something with my intergrated NIC)
I have reinstalled windows numerous times, running Windows 7 64 Ultimate
Disabled all firewalls (router and windows)
Forwarded ports on the router for TS
Downloaded the most recent version of TS3 each time.

The only thing I haven't tried yet is replacing my router, which is a Bob Lite (Australian issued router from the ISP Iinet) but after reading more recent forum posts, there are quite a few people having the same issue, so unless our routers have something in common I wouldn't think it be likely.

Has anyone read or heard of a fix for this issue?

    -Edit-
I actually remember that I have changed my router too, since as soon as I started having the problem, I got a new router (re-signed on with Iinet to have a free one sent out to me which was 3 days before the first post in this thread)

    Thanks

I have also experienced exactly the same problem as you - being if the channel populates to more than 5 people I start to receive the following error: "Connection Lost, Connected, User in your channel timed out". I have also attempted most of the remedies you have too.

I also have the same ISP and modem/router as you kronic. At first, I took the issue up with them and here is a list of the remedies I tried with my ISP (iinet):

    • Turned the firewall off the modem for Boblite
    • Changed QOS - classifies traffic of applications and provides them with differentiated services
    • Changed MTU to 1440
    • Changed wireless channel to 9
    • Changed protocol to PPPoA/VC-MUX
    • Changed ADSL operation mode to G.DMT
    • Performed netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt on the p.c
    • Performed netsh winsock reset.
    • Set the DNS manually
    • Factory reset modem
    • Reinstalling windows
    • Tested different modem.
    • Lower MTU size to 1400
    • Uninstalled Virus Protection and disabled windows firewall.

They (my ISP) now believe it is a “third party problem”, in this case – being TS3…

I have also checked all my BIOS settings and reinstalled Windows 7 - 64 Bit (Professional) with latest drivers (just did this clean install a week or so back). I also bought a new NIC. None of this has helped.

I have also updated to the newest TS3 Client and tried another network cable.

Is there any other specific information I could supply to assist in helping to resolve this problem we having?

    What motherboard are you using?

Although it shouldn't really matter since we have tried a new NIC, but it may have something to do with it.

    I'm using an ASUS P6T.

    I'm using a Gigabyte P67A-UD4-B3 Mobo & a Killer 2100 NIC...

iinet also got me to run WinMTR tests to various web addresses of my choice. I sent their engineer the results to look at who said it was "all normal".

Damn was hoping we could have narrowed it down to that.

What I'll try tonight, is installing TS3 on my laptop, and see if I still have the same issues. If I do, it's something to do with my connection whether it be router, line or some other settings from Iinet.

If it doesn't happen, then it's hardware on my computer end of it (I'd say mobo).

I'll also disable firewire in BIOS as I haven't done that yet and it could be a dodgy socket leaking out and causing issues, same with some other BIOS settings that I can disable things that I don't use.

well - i wouldn't be too sure, I mean we are both posting here with the same error - could it not be a TS3 setting?

Basically, that is why I've come to this forum, to look for some assistance with TS3 settings for this error... I feel I've eliminated other potential issues...

To the Forum Admins/Assistance/Guru's - is there anything else I could post that would help progress a solution? Thanks!

    Ah yes good point.

I might browse through the settings now and see if I can see anything that may be a potential problem.

I have a mate 150m up the road who is also with Iinet, same exchange, with a different router and he has no problems. There's usually a few of them connected too at the same time to the same server, and he hasn't changed any TS settings.

    --- Merged ---

Couldn't really see any settings that would relate at all to any network settings or anything in relation to what we're having, but yeah as you said, no guru at TS lol so hopefully one of them can share some knowledge with us.

Will still give that other machine a test tonight at home.

maybe you should see if you can take your machine over to your mate's place & see if you can replicate the problem there?

Yeah that's an idea, might try that.

Had the laptop running with TS for about 2 hours last night, no issues at all.

I also connected on my desktop, and it stayed connected for about an hour before it disconnected. Thing about it though, is while I wasn't in game, it was fine. Literally within 20 seconds of loading BF3, it started dis/reconnecting. Although oddly, I went about 1 hour on TS later on while also in BF...

Laptop had nothing running, just TS.

I'm going to try bringing it to my mates later this weekend if I can, and yeah see if it still happens.

Hi I'm having exactly same problem as OP.I have BoB lite too from iinet and problems started with that.I have 2 older Belkin modems from iinet and I have no problems with them.It is something with BoB lite which makes TS 3 to drop.I did ping test while dropping out of TS and ping is stable.Suggestion from iinet is to lover my speed profile in toolbox to "safe" or "gamer mode" which I haven't done yet.It is definitely something with BoB and BF 3 or Origin because I get disconnected while playing BF 3

Yeah I went to my friends place just up the road, also with Iinet and not using a BoB lite, and I didn't disconnect at all while playing. That rules out my machine as the issue.

Fault I think lies with the Modem, although syndakat said he had tried a new modem, and I thought I had. Probably wont hurt to try that again.
