Server Build: 14898: Flood Ban

When I update my server version to 3.0.0 [Build: 14898] my tsviewer gets flood banned and suggests that I put their ip to the whitelist. Well, the problem is that it's always been on the whitelist. I revert back to server version 3.0.0-rc2-pre [Build: 14775] and it goes back to normal (no tsviewer flood ban).

I'm using Win 7 64Bit and client version 3.0.0 [Build: 14906]

We can't reproduce it with our test's. We don't get banned on our RC2 and 3.0 [Build: 14906]

One correction: server files are in a box running Win XP Pro 32Bit (not Win 7 64Bit).

Hi,

your problem is that you have the TS Viewer IP on the blacklist (as well as the white list). You need to remove at least this entry: "85.25.128.0/17" from the blacklist, as it covers 85.25.120.233 (the tsviewer IP).

On a side note your blacklist looks really funky, so many entries with odd netmasks and even one with bad syntax (80.143.*) - i'd recommend cleaning it up to the needed entries.

You might be wondering why there was no problem with the older server version, the answer is simple: The query_ip_blacklist file was not used at all in previous server versions due to an oversight in code. This was fixed and now the blacklist is used =)
