    one(!) virtual Server crashes

    Hi,

    we had a stable TS Server with a NPL and two virtual Servers. Yesterday we moved the TS3 Server from one machine with Debian Lenny to a new Server with Debian Squeeze.

    First the Server was not starting because Debian Squeeze uses libmysqlclient16 and the TS3 Server requires(?) libmysqlclient.so.15. After installing this per Hand the MySQL connection can be established and the Server starts.

    We thought everything is fine now, but now our first virtual server stops from working from time to time. The ServerQuery is still working but restarting the virtual server doesn't bring the it back to life. The second virtual server still works when the first crashes.

    Sadly, in the log files is nothing helpful:
    Code:
    30.08.2011 18:38:28   VirtualServer   Info   listening on 0.0.0.0:9987
    30.08.2011 18:38:29   VirtualServer   Info   client connected 'Matze'(id:95) from 89.166.168.93:10682
    30.08.2011 18:38:32   VirtualServer   Info   client connected 'kase'(id:2461) from 93.223.78.120:53849
    30.08.2011 18:43:08   VirtualServer   Info   client connected 'Anestia'(id:7) from 80.139.176.167:63294
    30.08.2011 18:49:44 VirtualServer Info client disconnected 'Matze'(id:95) reason 'reasonmsg=connection lost'
    30.08.2011 18:49:44 VirtualServer Info client disconnected 'kase'(id:2461) reason 'reasonmsg=connection lost'
    30.08.2011 18:49:44 VirtualServer Info client disconnected 'Anestia'(id:7) reason 'reasonmsg=connection lost'
    - Server Restart from the Console -
    30.08.2011 18:49:54   VirtualServer   Info   stopped
    30.08.2011 18:49:55   VirtualServer   Info   listening on 0.0.0.0:9987
    The Database Connection seems to work. Today the Server run for the half day, then it cashed at 18:38. At 18:49 it cashed again.

    Maybe you have a idea what it could be, maybe there is a debug log?

    Thanks,

    kase

    I can't see a crash here, i can see, that users got disconnected.
    What ping or packetloss do they have?

    Are there more informations in another log file?

    The users are getting disconnected and can't connect anymore. The Virtual Server seems to be offline but the ServerQuery says it runs.

    I converted the MySQL Database to a SQlite version. Now we are waiting and testing that happens. I will write something soon to this.

    It seems that the Server now writes more Text to the log file.
    Code:
    2011-08-31 18:59:23.568264|ERROR   |DatabaseQuery |   | db_exec() insert into clients( server_id,  client_unique_id,  client_nickname,   error: clients.client_id may not be NULL
    2011-08-31 18:59:23.568727|CRITICAL|Client        |  1| Assertion "m_ClientDBID != 0" failed at common/chanclients/client.cpp:237;
    Thats the last lines before the Server crashes

    Hi again,

    this ASSERTION should not happen of course, but what is confusing me more right now is this buisness that only one virtual server is affected...there are multiple virtual servers running on the instance that produced the ASSERTION, and the other virtual server did not go down? Usually when a CRTICIAL log message is printed (like this assertion) the server should terminate itself (the whole process) right after printing.

    Hello

    I got the same problem, but I didn't changed anything
    We got 2 virtual Servers and server #1 is bugging, that after a restart you can use it for 2minutes, after that everyone gets a connection error und can't reconnect.
    I also tried to restart the whole root server.

    This occurred without any change at the server

    I hope someone could help me o.o

    Ok, as I sad we converted to SQlite. With that setup we got error messages saying that there was an problem loggin an event to the database. After disabeling the db loggin the server runs util that. We moved back to MySQL without dbloggin and the server has no crash since that date.
