    Solved Disable/Remove Avatar

    Gday all,

Ive recently had some issue with users using inappropriate avatars.

To stop the use of avatars i can set the "avatar size" permission to 0. The issue is until a client deletes the avatar it will stay and i can force remove.

Is there a way to force the removal of an avatar?

    Thanks

The only way to remove an avatar is, to ask that user or to delete his database entry.

Still cant remove another users avatar as an admin

From time to time I have to deal with a person who uploads an offensive avatar. Currently I have to make mysql edits to the database to remove a persons avatar and wait until the person rejoins.

Will there ever be support to remove another persons avatar?

If not why can't this be implemented?

I asked for this feature during the first open betas, but was told it would never be implemented.

It would be nice to be able to remove an offensive avatar and replace it with an avatar that says "your picture was offensive to others, please choose another" or something. Being able to do it with the user offline would be great as well, since I tend to miss some of the users I get complaints about on my server.

Anyway, glad that at least *something* is on the TODO list for this feature.

A ticket for this feature actually exists in our bugtracker for a future version. 3.0.4 or .5 might sound like a realistic estimate.

On my server I also have this problem, I also think an option should be implemented to remove users avatar, and I think also there should be an option to prevent the client from using avatars.

You can sort of do this by setting the max avatar size to 0 or 1 in the client permissions tab. But, yeah, a feature specifically for this would be kinda nice.

what about an option client side ?

    Hello Teamspeak Team,

I do not appreciate all those server banner, icons, client avatars...
But users must suffer them, binded with server rules.

Like it is done with forums settings, choice should be left to users to see (caching on HDD) all those pictures, or not.

In forum settings, I am used to disable all pictures, avatars and signatures to keep my screen clean and not download all that polution in any cache file on my HDD. But with TS3, settings are all server side.

Indeed, server admins are the one to decide in general what they allow, or not, on their server.
But I guess, as on forums, user should localy be able to not suffer all that on his side too !

    Just my opinion,
    Cordially,
    André.

We won't add that you can decide, to load an channl icon or not.
You can hide avatars, for thoose users, who are on your blocked list (or your own settings from contact manager)

    Hello.

With client 3.0.3 you have option to declare you want "Clear cache on exit".
Warning! it will clear ALL: cache, logs and chats.

    Greetings.

Has this since fallen through? Not going to be done?

This is still on our todo, but there is nor real release date yet. I'm sorry to tell that.
This feature is a must have in our opinion!

    Very good to hear, dante696!

Nice to hear that you even like some suggestions dante and not reject all

Me sees two possibilities for this:
    * either in the context menu of an online user - "remove avatar" or something
    * and/or in the user list as context menue - maybe under "remove client"

Both options should be possible then. This is already given in my ticket.
