    Solved Icon permissions

Sorry - but I don't get it... how can I give members of a specific server group rights to change their own icons - but not the Icons of channels or the server?!?

You have to enable next permission, in your server group, b_icon_manage

I did - but the users are not able to set *any* rights currently, so they can't set the icon ID in their own rights settings (the Client permissions menu entry in the context menu ist greyed out...)

I'm not sure how I can open this up without letting them change many other things as well?!

    Hello

The b_icon_manage permission is just to allow a person to manage icon.
Not to set a personnal icon (user icon)

Here the basic permission in a simple server group :
    - b_virtualserver_client_permission_list : value=checked
    - i_permission_modify_power : value=1
    - i_icon_id : GRANT=1

Please note this is just an example.
You certainly have to modify it to works with your existent server groups.

Grant users of a certain group permission to change only their icon?

Is there anyway to grant all users of a certain user group the ability to change their own icon, not those of other users in the same group?

I can grant users the ability to change their icon and anyone in the same group or lower. But I just want to give them the ability to change their own icon.

    Is this possible?

Groups that users can add themselves to

    Is this possible to setup?

I want to create groups that users can add and remove themselves from.

I mainly use server groups to assign people icons. For example, if you are an armorsmith in some MMORPG, I can assign an "armorsmith" icon to a group, then assign all armorsmiths to that group so they all get the icon.

It would be a lot better if they could just assign themselves. I don't want them to be able to add or remove each other from these groups, just themselves.

Or maybe if there's some other way for users to give themselves icons?

Is there a way to do any of this? (If not move this to the suggestion forum please. )
