    Solved Server Query problems

    like the title says...

    we have problems with random server querys joining our Teamspeak 3 Server and poking and texting around. I don't know how this can be done without the serverquery login data from the "serveradmin". Only i have that information. I think i know who does that but the question is how is that possible?

    I hope someone can help me with this problem.

    Hello

    Do you check the permissions from the Guest Query Group ?
    I guess there the select virtual server permission and with this one everybody can join your virtual server and use the Guest normal group permission.

    can TSViewer still connect when i set

    b_virtualserver_select

    to False? or should i change

    b_serverquery_login

    to False?

    --------
    current Rights of the Guest Server Query:

    b_serverinstance_help_view = True
    b_serverinstance_version_view = True
    b_serverquery_login = True
    b_virtualserver_select = True
    i_group_auto_update_type = 20
    i_group_needed_modify_power = 100
    _client_needed_permission_modify_power = 100

    Another Question:
    Could it bee, that your normal groups dont have any i_client_needed_poke_power set?

    The query without any login is also user of the server group Guest and owns the same permissions as the guest has.
    so if your normal guest is allowed to poke others, then the guest query also has this option.

    To make a link with the dante696's answer,

    In your Guest Query group the b_virtualserver_select is activated.
    Normal, is for the viewer.

    But every can use this permission to select a virtual server and => "goto dante696's post"

    my Guest Groups are allowed to poke other users in Teamspeak. value for the normal groups for i_client_needed_poke_power = 0
    i could set i_client_needed_poke_power to 1 for the normal groups and let the guest group poke powe at 0. But he can still type in channel chat and private chat and i dont want to forbid texting for teamspeak guests.

    But the thing i wanted to know is how can some stranger log in as server query without the login data and how can i restrict this without locking TSViewer out?

    By default an user connected on the query port has the permission from the Guest query group.
    So about you question "how" it's explain in my previous post.

    About the text chat, open the permission dialog > select the Guest normal Group > write "textmessage" in the filter field.
    Now you can uncheck the permission (Clients/Basics part)

    I suggestion to "block" this kind of action (poke, message) in the Guest group and add your user in the Normal group.
    Like that, the viewer can still works, and only your users can use the poke and chat

    There is no query account for the Guest Query group
    (hence the name - Guest )

    yes but i had a server query in Teamspeak who named himself "God" and "cuntbean". And they had the same icon as the TSViewer query has (the screen with the green checkmark instead of the blue ball)

    About the icon it's normal (it's a query user).

    As there is no permission to set a nickname in your Guest Query group, I guess your users use the ServerQuery dialog from the client
    (Tools > ServerQuery)

    You can remove the [☺B]b_client_issue_client_query_command[/B] from their groups

    I don't know any, but you can download the SQLite file and execute the following snippet in SQLite Database Browser:
    Code:
    SELECT * FROM `clients` WHERE NOT `client_login_name` = ""

    You can find the list of connections received in: ... Tools > Server Log > ...filter by "query client"
