    Insufficient Permission Power with Serveradmin

    Hello all,

i tried today to modify some Channelrights and got insufficient permission power
After that i controlled the Serveradmin Usergroup and wanted to change some permissions there and also got the same error
Then i logged in with serveradmin query and tried to set the group autoupgrade feature with
    "servergroupaddperm sgid=3 permsid=i_group_auto_update_type permvalue=2 permskip=0 permnegated=0"
and also got the insufficient permission power error.

It seems my serveradmin is lacking some rights .. the server was originally installed on the beta times. I would prefer not to delete the installation and recreate a fresh one, because i already have 4 virtual servers with multiple users on it.

Can anyone please give me a hint how to fix it ?
    Thanks in advance

Was the login "serveradmin" ? You can not add the permission with your own login, because this login does not have other permissions as your client has too.

The Login on the Client is not Serveradmin, but the Query Login was Serveradmin.

But if the serveradmin hasn't the rights, which user has it ? ...

Sry for double post.. but i perhaps have to clearify it a bit better.
If i want to change rights (Usergroup, Channels.. whatever) with mit Adminuser on the Client (Not Serveradmin) i get "insufficient permission modify power" (even he is member of the serveradmin group)
If i want to change rights on Query with the serveradmin account i also get "insufficient permission modify power" ..

So it seems i don't have any user able to modify rights.

I'm really starting to get crazy on this ...
i checked permission for hours now ...
i also inserted the "b_permission_modify_power_ignore" and "i_needed_modify_power_permission_modify_power_ign ore" for my query admin group, but still everythin i try to change gives me "insufficient permission power".

i also did a permreset on the virtual server, but no changes ...
i double checked the permission to change the channel rights, they are set correct but still i get this error on channel permission changes .. i just don't get it..

any hints would be great (:

Ok, it's more critical then thought, it seems some Guests have some rights they shouldn't have, and i'm not able to change them.

So i don't have much time to investigate further..
If noone has an idea soon, i think i need to reinstall.
Simple Question: Is there any way to atleast keep the channels or some kind of "safe" the channels and restore them to the virtual servers after the new installation ? (Would atleast safe me some work and help avoid some discussions)

Did you shutdown the old instance properly or did you just kill it?
In case of the latter you will need to wait up to three hours before starting the new instance. Also make sure that the license is not used anywhere else.
