    Another license issue

    Hi Folks,

I've read a few license threads but nothing is helping me.

Had a NPL key from a while ago, and have had it re-sent, just in case.

Have run up the server and the licensekey file is in the teamspeak folder, in the same location as the start up and service scripts.

    Here's the log file -
    2012-12-04 22:08:00.659814|INFO |ServerLibPriv | | TeamSpeak 3 Server 3.0.6.1 (2012-06-29 07:59:05)
    2012-12-04 22:08:00.660437|INFO |DatabaseQuery | | dbPlugin name: SQLite3 plugin, Version 2, (c)TeamSpeak Systems GmbH
    2012-12-04 22:08:00.660494|INFO |DatabaseQuery | | dbPlugin version: 3.7.3
    2012-12-04 22:08:00.660839|INFO |DatabaseQuery | | checking database integrity (may take a while)
2012-12-04 22:08:00.696096|WARNING |Accounting | | Unable to find valid license key, falling back to limited functionality
    2012-12-04 22:08:00.714181|INFO |FileManager | | listening on 0.0.0.0:30033
    2012-12-04 22:08:01.065370|INFO |CIDRManager | | updated query_ip_whitelist ips: 127.0.0.1,
    2012-12-04 22:08:01.065636|INFO |Query | | listening on 0.0.0.0:10011

Running on Ubuntu 64 bit 12.04.

Ownership of the license key is the same as the other files, in terms of both user and group.

    Any ideas please?

    Many thanks in advance.

check the content of the file, maybe it got corrupted when you downloaded it, if it is try another mail client. Make sure the user running the server can read and write the file.

All checked, no dice. Even changed to 777. Neither "service" or minimal will recognise the license.

Thank you. This appears to be the problem.

    However, I now have...

The license has expired, because it wasn't used.
You will have to request a new one.

    I don't think I can...

"If an NPL has already been issued on the IP address you supply, your application will be denied. You MUST host your NPL-licensed server on a unique IP address."

...I can't request a new licence because the old one is likely against my IP already.

I've had a look at the pricing fees. I'm not a company, [email protected] an individual who wants to use TeamSpeak for me and my friends.

I don't make it to "company" status, and your NPL licensing conditions are impossible for people on home-based servers. I'm planning on moving ISP in the next few months so I'll loose my IP. What kind of chaos would that bring to my NPL license?

If you had video conferencing, say, for up to ten people on a specially admin designated channel, then that would be worth ditching Skrype and paying a license fee for, but at the moment what you're offering for the price, and the conditions you're bringing to bear to individuals like me ... just make it impossible for me to use teamspeak.

Since the old license that was on the IP expired, it shouldn't be an issue and in the unlikely case it is, you can just say that the old one expired and hence can no longer be used.
As for switching ISPs and possible problems caused you will have to contact our sales team about that.

The email address you entered has already been used for a Non-Profit License. If you have lost your license key, please open a ticket for further assistance.

Hey Chris, my license expires at 2 of January but it hasn't been renewed yet, is that okay?

Yes it is... until January 2nd
Not sure whether it will renew and if so when but they usually renewed shortly (eg. a few days) before expiration.
