Unable to connect to some servers on Ubuntu Client

I looked through the first couple pages and didn't see this so I figured I would make the post. As stated in the title I'm having an issue connecting to a server I frequently use. This only happens on my Ubuntu Installation, I can connect to the server fine on my Windows 7 install. I tried figuring this out on my own for a few hours last night but, this looks like it is beyond my scope. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is a failure in DNS resolution, try to connect to 85.236.100.85:20767 instead.

the last two lines are because the server has a password, which prevents me from successfully connecting.
