    Update 3.0.6.1->3.0.7.1: server does not start (some db problem?)

    I just update my TS3 server and to my big dissapointment, it does not want to start now! All I can see are these log messages:

    2013-04-28 14:25:46.953577|INFO |ServerLibPriv | | TeamSpeak 3 Server 3.0.7.1 (2013-03-18 10:56:27)
    2013-04-28 14:25:46.953751|INFO |DatabaseQuery | | dbPlugin name: SQLite3 plugin, Version 2, (c)TeamSpeak Systems GmbH
    2013-04-28 14:25:46.953768|INFO |DatabaseQuery | | dbPlugin version: 3.7.3
    2013-04-28 14:25:46.953888|INFO |DatabaseQuery | | checking database integrity (may take a while)
    2013-04-28 14:25:46.966748|ERROR |DatabaseQuery | | db_exec failed duplicate column name: ban_hash
    2013-04-28 14:25:46.966766|ERROR |DatabaseQuery | | db_exec() ALTER TABLE bans ADD COLUMN ban_hash varchar(255); error: duplicate column name: ban_hash
    2013-04-28 14:25:46.966777|ERROR |SQL | | database update to revision: 21 failed!

    How can I fix this?

    It appears the database was already partially modified by either a previous attempt that failed or by some other tool.

    You either need to attempt to fix your database manually (only if you are experienced with databases and know what you are doing) or start from scratch by deleting your database.

    Just some update:

    1. database has *not* been modified by any tool, except for TS itself
    2. no previous upgrade-atempt has been ever made
    3. I encountered this very same problem on two different servers

    The database was being used by a server version 3.0.7 or newer and is currently being used by a server older than that which you are now trying to update.

    You may get lucky by removing the statement from the update_21.sql file, however this might cause other problems down the road.
