    TeamSpeak Server 3.0.7.2 released

We are happy to announce that version 3.0.7.2 of the server has been released.
This release should help combat some issues that have been reported to us.

    Changelog:
    Code:
    === Server Release 3.0.7.2 15 May 2013
+ added serverinstance_pending_connections_per_ip variable which limits the number of concurrent
pending (=new) connections allowed from the same ip. 0 means unlimited and is the default. Set
to non null to combat dos attacks.

I actually got ddosed until my server was locked by my host. This wouldn't help because it completely saturated my connection.

However works well on small attacks, what is the recommended value?

(I haven't updated yet because I'm going to change host)

Thanks for the new update but i do have a question well i updated all of our company TS3 servers and looks like i cant find this permission that you have added...

    serverinstance_pending_connections_per_ip

If you look at the permissions list in teamspeak you dont see it there... is that a bug or is this command only working via the query

    Thanks
    Barry

The log doesnt speak of a permission, it says its a variable.
Me thinks it rather a parameter to start the server than something done in the client.
    Anyway, nice Pfingsten / Pentecost.

serverinstance_pending_connections_per_ip is checked or edited via serverquery. Use instanceinfo or instanceedit as commands to view or modify the value of the variable.

    Hello !

    You can edit record by:

use putty.exe or go to cmd.exe

    telnet your ip 10011 ( example: telnet 0.0.0.0 10011 )
    login serveradmin password
instanceedit serverinstance_pending_connections_per_ip=x ( where x - numbers of connections pending per second )

Did you read the news? http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=newsa...ident=20130516 They recommend a setting of 2 or 4.

They said also " You may use other low values " so it depends from performance VPS or dedication server.
" These attacks interfere with the way the server handles new client connections and cause very high CPU usages. "

I don't worry about my processors because iv got:

    Intel Core i7-2600
    Processor Speed 3.4GHz
    Turbo Boost 3.8GHz
    Number of CPU cores 4
    Total Topics CPU 8
    RAM 16 GB
    Hard Drive 2x 1TB
    Unlimited monthly transfer
    Bandwidth 1Gbps
    DDoS protection - more than 10 GB/s

    Include:
    - blocking TCP packets with improper TCP flags,
    - limiting UDP traffic,
    - limiting ICMP traffic,
    - blocking the packets for 0/tcp, 0/udp ports,
    - limiting TCP SYN packets,
    - TCP/UDP filters for specific services (whitelist, blacklist),
    - proxy and load balancer – L4-L7 attacks filtering,

i decided to use value 1 because high performance and they have to first pass through the hardware firewall.
