Solved Channel description truncated while server restart

    Hello,

i have a quite long channel description with about 1000 characters.
If i restart the server only the first 255 characters are stored, all others are just dropped.

Why is there such a low limitation and is there a way to avoid this?

    Best Regards
    Azraelo

That is because you are using MySQL and your database is from the early days and you didn't do the required update(s) as mentioned in the changelog back then.

! mysql users, please alter your table channel_properties and
extend the "value varchar(255)" field to varchar(8192)
When sending PMs please make sure to include a reference link to the thread in question in the body of your message.
