    Question about DDos attacks...

    Hi.

    I thought there was a permission in the server that can protect the server agains DDOS attacks is that right or wrong?
    Because we have some problems whit people that attacking our servers and on that moment our TS servers getting lagg are going down its pretty anoying :S

    DDoS has nothing to do with the permission System. And as long as you don't get spammed via chat or joins on the Server there probably is nothing you can do. You can ask your provider if it is a rental server or just password-secure it.

    There are 2 kinds of DDOS attacks in regard to a TS server:
    One is a general ip packet flood attack to your server that satiates the internet connection of your server machine. Usually, there is nothing you can do about that. It may be possible that you ask your provider to try and filter the flood packets, but in many cases that will not be successful.

    The other is is a flood attack directly to the ports of the TS server. There was a change in the 3.0.7.2 server to try to mitigate these kind of attacks, see http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=newsa...ident=20130516
