This will work too. Good point.
I will add that in my post as a new workaround.

No problem! Noticed this some time ago, tested everytime a query guest would enter.
I always refreshed and the nickname would update for the UID to the last query

Remember that I'm not saying that they are in the ServerQuery group but the ServerQuery UID.

Test yourself. You will see that all server query guests enter with that UID.
Now I understand what happen, nice idea!

Yeah. I think it probably should be documented that SQ Guests have share the ServerQuery UID.

Dante this doesn't work for me because when i use ServerQuery it uses the last query that connected to the server so for example: gametracker if i take the permissions there if someone connects for example tsviewer it does not has the permissions that i used before..

Btw who said "DROP" should be at begining in iptables config, he is wrong, i just tried that on my CentOS server, and it didnt work (TS viewers was not able to connect)

ACCEPT rules first, then DROP at the end like this:

    -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 10011 -s 85.25.120.233 -j ACCEPT
    -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 10011 -s 208.167.241.190 -j ACCEPT
    -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 10011 -s 208.167.241.185 -j ACCEPT
    -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 10011 -s 208.167.241.186 -j ACCEPT
    -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 10011 -s 108.61.78.147 -j ACCEPT
    -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 10011 -s 108.61.78.148 -j ACCEPT
    -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 10011 -s 108.61.78.149 -j ACCEPT
    -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 10011 -s 108.61.78.150 -j ACCEPT
    -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 10011 -s 62.75.222.14 -j ACCEPT
    -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 10011 -j DROP

.. i tested that with my ipadress added in config, i wasnt able to connect to ServerQuery until i add my IP before DROP line. I am not some "linux pro" but this works for me.

Read the message 27 to understand why I use drop before all without issues.

You could have told him directly (like in post #27) that the difference is in all those little "-I" instead of the "-A".

He "inserted" (see in post #21) the ACCEPT rules and "appended" the DROP, so in effect if you look at the chain with "iptables --list", you will notice that his insert command set also results in ACCEPT rules standing above the drop rule.

But most people like you and me, simply only append and so you have to use the right order with ACCEPTs before DROP.
