S4 intermittent black screen

I purchased the app, and when ever I try to bring up my notification panel the whole screen goes black. Then seems to go black randomly till its killed.

Is this a known thing? I tried searching but couldn't find anything.

Try deactivating the proximity sensor in the TS3 settings:

What "the notification panel" exactly is?

I think this fixed my problem, big thanks!

Sorry, I'm wasn't sure what to call it. Notification panel, where you swipe down the notification bar. It brings up a new screen detailing a bunch of stuff.
