    Solved Teamspeak 3.0.10.X fails to launch on FreeBSD 10

    Just trying to get a new FreeBSD 10 server off the ground and I am running into problems starting the TeamSpeak 3 server on FreeBSD 10.

    Steps for installation:
    Code:
    $ fetch http://ftp.4players.de/pub/hosted/ts3/releases/3.0.10.3/teamspeak3-server_freebsd-amd64-3.0.10.3.tar.gz
    $ tar xvf teamspeak3-server_freebsd-amd64-3.0.10.3.tar.gz
    The problem:
    Code:
    $ ./ts3server_freebsd_amd64
    Shared object "libiconv.so.3" not found, required by "ts3server_freebsd_amd64"
    Code:
    $ ldd ts3server_freebsd_amd64
    ts3server_freebsd_amd64:
    	libthr.so.3 => /lib/libthr.so.3 (0x800b02000)
    	libiconv.so.3 => not found (0)
    	libstdc++.so.6 => not found (0)
    	libm.so.5 => /lib/libm.so.5 (0x800d27000)
    	libgcc_s.so.1 => /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 (0x800f4d000)
    	libc.so.7 => /lib/libc.so.7 (0x80115a000)
    When you try deploy converters/libiconv you get the following message:
    Code:
    [email protected]:/usr/ports/converters/libiconv # make install
    ===> libiconv-1.14_1 converters/libiconv should not be used with iconv from base. Please fix the port which tries to use it.
    In FreeBSD 10 there is now a native iconv this is documented at the following URL:
    http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en/books/...ing-iconv.html

    It appears there will need to be some changes made it compiled again for this to work on FreeBSD 10.
    Is there plans for this?

    EDIT: Typo

    I have created a ticket for that problem.

    Was hard to get everything running with all these new commands.

    It's possible to test it as soon as it's available ?

    Just updated my server to 10.0-RELEASE and had the same problem.

    I got it working by copying libstdc++.so.6 and libiconv.so.3 from the backup to /usr/local/lib/teamspeak/server/

    Just a quick-fix, but it works.

    FYI: There is also a Port "/audio/teamspeak3-server"

    It isn't a real port, it's only copy the binary files, still not working

    Yes of course. It just maintains the installation, installs an rc-script, etc. You still need the missing libraries.

    I attached them. Those are the most recent versions from my previous 9.2 installation.

    Install the "port", place the libraries in /usr/local/lib/teamspeak/server and give it a try.

    We have fixed the issue in server 3.0.11. We do not have an ETA for this server version.

    I have updated the port so that it installs the necessary libraries in FreeBSD 10. I'm using it myself with FreeBSD 10.
