    Issues with DNS

    Hello,

I'm trying to make a sub-domain work as a teamspeak ip, I don't know much about DNS and have been trying to make it work from what I've been able to find on here but I can't seem to.

Heres how my SRV and A record is setup

The sub-domain I want to be the ip is ts.streamersparadise.com and the teamspeak ip is 54.85.58.55:9480.

Edit: Never mind, I got it to work. All I had to do was to change the Target in the SRV record to the teamspeak IP, woops.

Priority and weight both have to be 0. Otherwise teamspeak's crappy srv-rr implementation will not accept them.

Your argument is invalid. But TeamSpeak will only use the first SRV RR, no matter what.

Priority have to be nonzero, as many DNS control panels choke on zero weight.
But this is not the case, as the OP have wrong SRV record to begin with.

Only if first SRV is functional.
If not, it'll go down the list, until it find a working server, or the list is exhausted.

Who uses a dns control panel anyways? Enterprise solutions rely on plain text zone files

What makes you say so? Did you checked? Because I did and it works as it should. When first SRV record point to a nonexistent server, the next one is picked.
