"Poke" Is one of the worst features of any software I've used

Just lost a CSGO match thanks to someone poking me the moment I was shooting the defuser on the 29th round. Thanks TS.

Who the hell came up with the idea, "Hey, a private message they are receiving on Teamspeak is probably more important than everything else so lets make them drop everything to read it."

Poke is actually a good feature and so far, I haven't been kicked out of a any game by it. Well, I'm using windowed mode pretty much everywhere. If you have problems with it, remove the permission.

I agree with numma_cway. I believe it's also a good feature that has its advantages and it's downsides. But ask to the server admin to create "NO-Poke" channels for competitive gameplay.

Why are so many new users using nicknames based on the problem they are having? Are they 12 year old kids or something?

Anyway on topic, Pokes are a good feature. Another option, though more cumbersome is to set contact defaults so that you only get pokes from friends while blocking them from others. Then add everyone you see to your contacts list as either friend, blocked or neutral. I do wish the settings of the defaults in the contact manager for the neutral group was applied to all users not in your contacts too, then you could from the client side block all pokes from everyone without the admin needing to tweak permissions.

Also, no need to take games so serious.

I assume his name is nothing to do with point of sale.....

I like the poke feature because it lets you get someone's attention who may have their sounds turned off. Without it a message can go there for hours without being noticed otherwise. Plus a server admin can make a server group that can be assigned upon request to prevent non-admins from poking them. I have a similar system on my community server where people can request to either be poked only from members of sections they belong to or admins of sections they belong to.

You guys have to be kidding me. No serious gaming server has pokes enabled. It's been causing problems since beta.
OP: ask your server admin to turn them off.

Well, OP didn't ask how to prevent it from server side. Was just complaining about how he lost in a game, point out again, "a game".

There are so many opinions about poke, but could it be, that the bug "that someone gets kicked out of a fullscreen window" still exists?

The "gamer" has the option, to turn poke sound off, so he won't notice the poke and won't gets distracted while ingame.

The main post doesn't say what exactly happend.
I think the main post is only here to blame us for his lost match.
It's not unusaul, to flame in game so, why not here on forum.

POS_Feature correct me if I'm wrong, but then please tell us what happens if someone pokes you and is it reproducable?

I have a personal lua plugin that ignores pokes (and sends pm to the poker), I can modify some stuff and place it in the teamspeak addons page.

Might be interesting, although I have a feeling the original poster is either trolling or just made that account to get something of his chest and is gone.
