Question TS3 Server does not start, after moving to another folder

    Hi,

I have a problem to start my server.

Today I moved the teamspeak installation from /etc/teamspeak to /home/teamspeak.

I also changed the server user from "ts3" to "teamspeak".

Afterwards I tried to start the server and there is a notice:
TeamSpeak 3 server started, for details please view the log file
But the server does not start and there is no log file entry.

When I try to start the server again hes just saing:
The server is already running, try restart or stop
And the task on the server is started:

Then I tried to use the ts3server_minimal_runscript.sh, but because the task is running, I got this error:
    http://forum.teamspeak.com/showthrea...my-external-ip

So I killed the task and afterwards used the minimal runscript again with the "teamspeak" user:

And this happens, when I start it with root user:

And after 15 minutes, there is this message:
    2014-03-30 21:36:00.993999|INFO |Query | | query from 13 X.XX.XX.XXX:46808 issued: login with account "serveradmin"(serveradmin)

After these steps, he stops doing anything and stays there...

Can somebody tell me, whats wrong, what do I have to change?

    Thank you so much

You can copy text from terminal, you know? It's rather hard to read it from images.

I can clearly read what is happening there.

Your output gave enough informations, to solve it on your own!

Your "ts3"/"teamspeak" has no permissions to write into the server directory.
Please make sure that you can execute, writeand read.

Someone (maybe you) used the Query to login. Please compare the IP.

But I added the account via "chown - c teamspeak /home/teamspeak"..
Shouldn't the account have write rights?

Was the login used over shell or which login is meant?

Doesn't mean, that your user has permissions to write/read/execute in whole folder and subfolders.
Please use the command "ls -l path_onyourharddrive" to show the permissions.

And the login was done via Telnet.
But we are not sure if it is the local query, trying to execute something. Please compare the IP, that was used.

Please read the first question and then look at the edit part at the end of this post!

Should only the user teamspeak be chowned or also the group teamspeak?
    So
    chown -R teamspeak /home/teamspeak
    or
    chown -R :teamspeak /home/teamspeak
    or
    chown -R teamspeak:teamspeak /home/teamspeak
    ?

The output at the moment is (now):
    -rw-r--r-- 1 teamspeak root 41908 Mar 30 23:57 CHANGELOG
    -rw-r--r-- 1 teamspeak root 23854 Mar 30 23:57 LICENSE

    drwxr-xr-x 2 teamspeak root 4096 Feb 2 22:26 tsdns
At the moment its very strange:
I can start the server and when I try to stop the server (with root or teamspeak), he says, that its stop, but its not.
The output, when entering ./ts3server_startscript.sh status is:
No server running (ts3server.pid is missing)
But I am on my server and everything is running...

    EDIT:
After killing task and starting server as "teamspeak" user the server started
But my question: Which mode should I use? (of the above mensioned: teamspeak, :teamspeak or teamspeak:teamspeak)

And I cant access the tsdns folder with the "teamspeak" user, although he is listed as owner...
    Can you help me?

Which mode you should use depends on whether someone else should have access to the files apart from the teamspeak user or not. If not, I'd advise you to use the "chmod -R teamspeak:teamspeak /home/teamspeak" command.

You can't stop the server because your server cannot create a ts3server.pid file. Please make sure that your permissions are setup in a way that the teamspeak user can write to /home/username_of_teamspeakuser and it's subdirectories.
