Stop users using "[" and "]" in their nicknames

Is it possible to stop users using "[" and "]" in their nicknames?
A few people on the server I host thought it would be funny to have the nicknames "[Commander] Namehere" I don't want to kick or ban them but wonder if it is possible to stop people doing that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If you host the server, then you control this by the permission
    i_group_show_name_in_tree
    Group Show Name in Tree
Defines how the group name is displayed in the tree.
If zero or unset, no group name is displayed.
If 1, the group is displayed before the client name.
If 2, the group is displayed behind the client name.

Just set this permission to 0 or unset it.

To find the permission by name, select the 'Advanced permission system':
Settings --> Options --> Application --> In "Misc" section --> Check "Advanced permission system" --> "Ok" button.

I would also add a ban rule for the word "Commander" like this, go to tools >> Ban List >> Add >> Regular Expression in the dropdown box, in the name box put .*(\[)|[Cc][Oo0][Mm][Mm][Aa4][Nn][Dd][Ee3][Rr]|(\]).* and click OK. This should effectively prevent anyone without the permissions to ignore bans, unable to use that name.

If you just want to ban the square brackets substitute the above rule for this one: .*(\[)|(\]).*

PS: You don't need the capturing groups
